Overview
Join Lion as the Commercial Lead for Wine, overseeing the financial and strategic performance of the Wine portfolio as well as supporting the Export business that handles Lion's flagship offerings. This role provides a unique blend of practical financial management and strategic business partnership with a focus on longer-term commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial outcomes including forecasting, month-end procedures, and financial planning for the Wine division, ensuring clear reporting against targets.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to define strategic direction, commercial priorities, and growth opportunities within the Wine sector.
- Develop scenario analyses, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making processes.
- Co-manage wine inventory balancing, vintage costing, and overall financial stewardship of wine assets.
- Provide reporting, forecasting, and commercial insights to support the Export business across Lion’s wider product portfolio.
- Enhance financial governance by managing balance sheets, completing quarterly attestations, and maintaining robust financial controls.
Candidate Profile
- Possess strong technical expertise in accounting and finance, with proven experience in forecasting, month-end close, planning, and balance sheet oversight.
- Capable of transforming complex financial data into clear and actionable commercial insights and guidance.
- Proactive and independent worker who excels at building trusted relationships across multiple stakeholders.
- Experienced business partner with commercial curiosity to understand drivers and contribute to long-term strategy formulation.
- Comfortable navigating complexity, managing competing tasks, and taking accountability from analysis through execution.
- Holds or is progressing toward a CA or CPA qualification. Experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) is a plus but not mandatory.
