About the Role

This opportunity is presented in partnership with a company seeking to hire a Solutions Architect based in the United Arab Emirates. The position is a strategic advisory role focusing on designing complex, multi-domain technology platforms to enhance scalability, security, reliability, and sustainability over the long term. The architect will develop architectural strategies, technical roadmaps, and reference patterns, supporting engineering teams in complex technical choices.

This role requires profound expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, DevOps, automation, and modern software design. In addition to architectural oversight, the role includes hands-on technical engagement for new initiatives, prototypes, or critical decision-making when necessary. Collaboration across Sales, Engineering, Product, Leadership, and clients is essential, with influence achieved through technical credibility rather than formal authority. The position is fully remote and full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive architectural blueprints, system designs, technical standards, reference models, and long-term technology strategies for sophisticated platforms.
• Develop distributed systems and integrations that prioritize scalability, security, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and manageable operational complexity.
• Serve as the chief architectural authority guiding modernization and technical direction across both mature and evolving systems.
• Design and enhance cloud or hybrid infrastructure components including networking, IAM/RBAC, compute, storage, monitoring, security, governance, disaster recovery, resilience, and cost management.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation utilizing tools like Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or native cloud services.
• Promote adoption of DevOps methodologies including CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, release management, environment configuration, observability, automation, and operational best practices.
• Assist engineering teams with intricate debugging, incident troubleshooting, performance tuning, and architectural re-engineering from a system-wide viewpoint.
• Contribute to architecture-sensitive coding tasks, prototypes, proof-of-concept efforts, code and design reviews, and resolving technical issues when direct involvement is required.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams in pre-sales to evaluate technical feasibility, formulate solution approaches, participate in discovery sessions, prepare proposals, and confirm delivery capabilities.
• Ensure smooth transition of architectural decisions from pre-sales phases to project delivery and initial planning.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, including AI/ML integration, event-driven architectures, workflow orchestration, and modern automation strategies.
• Provide mentorship and identify skill gaps within engineering teams, promoting best practices and enhancing technical maturity and architectural competence.
• Influence senior technical stakeholders with effective communication, strong credibility, and prudent judgment without formal hierarchical authority.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in architecture-focused roles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
• Proven track record designing, deploying, and evolving distributed systems in large-scale, mission-critical production environments.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, service-oriented architectures, event-driven designs, messaging systems, queues, event management, SQL, data modeling, and database technologies.
• Familiarity with Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Event-Driven Design (EDD), Infrastructure as Code, Platform as a Service concepts, security, governance, observability, and system resilience.
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex codebases across diverse technologies for effective architectural guidance.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure or similar providers, including cloud infrastructure design and optimization.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development, DevOps practices, automation, infrastructure architecture, and operational excellence in production systems.
• Strong architectural judgment combined with a systems-thinking approach and a pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences with demonstrated ownership in dynamic environments.
• Capability to influence and guide senior engineers respectfully and collaboratively without direct authority.
• Curiosity and openness to emerging technologies and innovative architectural methods.
• Experience in modernizing legacy systems, evolving mature platforms, or familiarity with cloud-native/containerized architectures, microservices, workflow orchestration, event-driven platforms, or AI/ML is advantageous.
• Cloud or architecture certifications are considered beneficial but not mandatory.
