About Bridgit
Bridgit is a prominent Australian non-bank lender revolutionizing access to property equity. Founded to simplify and accelerate property transactions, Bridgit pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later product, enabling homeowners to leverage equity flexibly through a straightforward digital application and rapid approvals. With flexible loan solutions, Bridgit aims to make property financing effortless and stress-free.
Operating for five years, Bridgit has partnered with over 75% of Australia's mortgage broker networks and launched white label products with major aggregators including Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group. The company has garnered multiple accolades such as Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards, the 2025 Finder People's Choice Award for Lending Innovation, Deloitte's Tech Fast 50 2025, and recognition as one of LinkedIn’s Top 20 Startups in Australia for 2025.
Role Overview
The Solution Architect will play a critical role in ensuring that current developments align with Bridgit’s future business needs. Positioned between Product and Engineering teams, this role involves translating business objectives into scalable, secure technical designs supporting Lending platforms, broker and aggregator integrations, and AI systems like ATLAS, the company’s multi-agent orchestration platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert business and product requirements into detailed solution designs including system components, data flows, integration points, and non-functional criteria.
- Own and maintain target-state architecture across loan origination, credit decisioning, settlements, broker/aggregator channels, and customer applications.
- Architect API-led and event-driven integrations with aggregators, brokers, and third-party services, ensuring reliability, security, and adaptability.
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate AI capabilities such as ATLAS with core systems in line with architectural standards.
- Assess vendor products, platforms, and tools, providing well-justified recommendations balancing speed, cost, risk, and maintainability.
- Embed security, data privacy, and compliance from a credit licensee perspective, aligning with Bridgit’s AI Governance and Risk Appetite frameworks.
- Lead design reviews, document architecture decisions, and mentor engineering teams without causing delivery bottlenecks.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to scope, prioritize, and mitigate risks in the roadmap while identifying technical debt early.
- Design systems for operational excellence focusing on performance, resilience, observability, and cost efficiency.
- Champion AI-enhanced development methodologies, utilizing standardized AI design tools and sharing best practices across teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in solution, enterprise, or technical architecture roles, preferably in regulated fintech or financial services.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and delivering distributed cloud-based systems on platforms like AWS.
- Strong foundation in API design, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures involving third-party and partner systems.
- Deep understanding of security, data privacy, and resilience considerations within regulated environments.
- Familiarity with AI and large language model (LLM) systems integration, including awareness of governance, costs, and observability challenges.
- Excellent communication skills capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders including executives, product teams, and engineers.
- A pragmatic approach focused on delivering functional designs over perfection in documentation.
- Curious, collaborative, authentic personality with strong ownership and leadership drive.
- Desirable: Experience working with loan origination, credit decision platforms, or within broker/aggregator ecosystems.
Benefits and Culture
- Additional leave entitlements including birthday leave and an extra paid day for personal or mental health needs.
- Opportunity to work remotely from any location for two weeks annually.
- Support for continuous learning and professional growth through internal training and initiatives.
- Active social calendar with various team events throughout the year.
Additional Information
Employment offers are contingent on successful pre-employment background screening, including reference and police checks, due to the nature of financial services regulation.
