Solution Architect – Mendix Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Solution Architect specializing in Mendix technologies to lead the architecture and technology strategy for a substantial enterprise transformation initiative. This leadership role demands guiding the design and implementation of technology solutions, overseeing the full architecture lifecycle, and ensuring coordinated delivery across various technology domains. The position requires deep industry expertise combined with client interaction, not involving hands-on coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the architectural vision and technological approach for complex enterprise applications utilizing the Mendix platform.
• Collaborate with clients to comprehend business goals, technological restrictions, and challenges, transforming these insights into robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Develop current and target state architectures along with transition plans, setting architectural standards and principles.
• Manage the technical roadmap, make architecture choices, define integration strategies, and guide the delivery throughout project phases.
• Steer technology directions including Mendix, mobile technologies, enterprise integrations, Azure and cloud platforms, DevOps, security, and quality assurance.
• Partner with clients, project managers, and client relationship managers to identify priorities, dependencies, risks, and key technical milestones.
• Lead workshops and discovery meetings with stakeholders, offering architectural recommendations and alternative solutions.
• Oversee technical delivery enforcing architecture reviews, design decisions, standards adherence, and governance of engineering practices.
• Lead and mentor a diverse technical team of approximately 10 to 20 professionals spanning development, QA, DevOps, cloud, and integration experts.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation contact for complex architectural and delivery issues.

Experience and Qualifications

• More than 10 years of broad technology experience, including significant roles in solution or technical architecture.
• Demonstrable expertise with Mendix and enterprise-level application architecture.
• Proven track record delivering large international enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Experience collaborating directly with international clients, senior business stakeholders, and distributed technical teams.
• Leadership experience managing technology teams of 10 to 20+ members across disciplines like development, quality assurance, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and integration.
• Solid knowledge of API design, enterprise integration, cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, security practices, scalability, and other non-functional requirements.
• Familiarity with webMethods or similar enterprise integration platforms is highly preferred.
• Excellent consulting, communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making capabilities.
