Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect based in Dubai, UAE, with over 12 years of experience to lead the architecture of web, mobile, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of end-to-end solutions balancing user experience, performance, scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Develop architecture standards, reusable patterns, guidelines, and best practices for software solutions.
  • Architect web and mobile applications, microservices, APIs, and their integration ecosystems.
  • Design integration frameworks spanning mobile apps, microservices, event streams, message brokers, and cloud platforms.
  • Apply cloud-native technologies such as containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, service mesh, and virtualization.
  • Embed security aspects including authentication, authorization, encryption, application and infrastructure security, and cloud security.
  • Collaborate with security teams to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Conduct architecture reviews ensuring compliance with enterprise technology standards and best practices.
  • Create technical designs and documentation using architecture and data modelling tools.
  • Mentor and coach junior and associate architects to build technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with business, product, engineering, and security stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 12 years' experience in software engineering, solution, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • At least 5 years designing web/mobile applications, microservices, and APIs.
  • 5+ years working with cloud-native tech including containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, service mesh, and virtualization.
  • Hands-on Solution Architect experience ranging from 2 to 4 years.
  • 3 or more years in cybersecurity/information security disciplines.
  • Strong expertise in software architecture principles, software engineering, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of microservices, APIs, application development, integration, and cloud environments.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, event streams, message brokers, and distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of Authentication, Authorization, Encryption, Logging & Monitoring, OWASP Top 10, Infrastructure and Cloud Security, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and OpenShift platforms.
  • Experience using Enterprise Architect and data modelling tools.
  • Solid grasp of architectural design patterns and enterprise integration strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, communication, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and guide technical teams effectively.
  • TOGAF certification preferred or required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Hands-on expertise in Microservices Architecture design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with High-Level Design (HLD) and architectural design patterns.
  • Practical experience deploying and managing cloud-native infrastructures and container orchestration solutions such as Kubernetes/OpenShift.
