Job description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to join our Architecture team at AMCS, contributing to the design and development of our cloud-based platform using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. You will collaborate closely with cross-business-unit Engineering and Product teams to ensure architectural consistency and deliver scalable enterprise solutions. A strong understanding of technological risks and the ability to articulate non-functional requirements is essential. Excellent communication, team collaboration, and a proactive work ethic are expected.

This role primarily focuses on Solution Architecture but also requires strong development competencies to assist with core platform components. Ideal candidates will demonstrate deep expertise in Microsoft technologies and a familiarity with other cloud platforms, influencing technology choices, design, and product strategy while maintaining a focus on reliability, security, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to define the product roadmap, designs, and technical enablers.
  • Drive implementation of a cloud platform that emphasizes security, cost-efficiency, reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Establish and uphold software architecture standards and best practices.
  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure software solutions.
  • Communicate non-functional requirements and architectural designs clearly through formal and informal channels.
  • Identify and address strategic technical debt.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural objectives and solution designs.
  • Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to guarantee high-quality platform products.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Contribute actively to the development of core platform packages and template projects.
  • Stay updated with new technological advancements to continuously improve platform offerings.
  • Partner with Architecture, DevOps, and Platform Engineering for automating deployments, enforcing governance, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and adherence to relevant policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of software development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a Software, Technical, or Solution Architecture role.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectural patterns and designs.
  • Experience designing and building reliable, scalable distributed enterprise systems.
  • High attention to detail and readiness to tackle complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies including .Net (C#), Web API, and Azure services such as Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, and Azure Front Door.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and related infrastructure supporting DevOps and security practices.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform offerings like GKE, Postgres, and Cloud Functions.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like Angular and React.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC with experience in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, and Kafka.
  • Exposure to container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Microsoft Azure / .Net certifications are advantageous.
  • Use of AI tools such as GitHub Co-Pilot to enhance design and coding efficiency.
  • Strong curiosity about AI technologies and how they can accelerate delivery and create business value.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, design, and stakeholder management capabilities.
