About the Role
Join Aon's Centre for Innovation and Analytics (ACIA) as a Solution Architect, where you'll design and deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions using modern cloud-native architectures. This role offers a hybrid work environment from our Dublin office combined with remote flexibility.
Role Summary
You will be accountable for architecting solutions involving advanced analytics, data pipelines, web portals, statistical models, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. These solutions run on Aon's Data and Analytics Services Platform (DASP) and primarily support Aon's Risk Capital division. Collaborative teamwork with developers, data scientists, engineers, analysts, and project managers is central to this position. The role demands excellent technical communication skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and to evaluate innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design cloud-native, event-driven applications and enterprise integrations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams to implement analytics solutions.
- Produce design documentation and system architecture diagrams reflecting modern distributed application patterns.
- Consult and guide application development teams on Agile and DevOps practices, particularly using Azure DevOps.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in technical leadership roles within application development or architecture.
- Proven ability to build and deploy complex applications, especially cloud-native, event-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, particularly Azure DevOps toolsets.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, especially Azure PaaS services such as Azure Container Apps, App Service, Functions, API Management, Application Gateway, and Storage.
- Additional knowledge of AWS PaaS services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, Docker, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, and SageMaker is advantageous.
- Understanding of distributed application designs, architectural patterns, and documentation standards.
- Experience with modern data stack tools like Databricks, Airflow, Snowflake, and StreamSets is highly desirable.
