Role Overview

We are seeking a Solution Architect to join our Managed Operations – Modern Platforms team. This crucial role involves designing and delivering innovative IT solutions that enable customers to modernize, optimize, and mature their IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with a broad range of clients, both public and private sector, to drive enhanced business efficiency, improve service delivery, and mitigate risks.

As a trusted expert, you will partner with sales, delivery, and service teams to scope and architect sophisticated infrastructure transformation projects. Your expertise will span Microsoft, Oracle, cloud, and hybrid platform technologies, with a blend of presales and technical consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead presales workshops and client consultations that identify technical solutions aligned with business goals.
• Create commercially viable and technically solid Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) documents.
• Develop and deliver solution designs for Datacom’s Managed Operations products and services, including enterprise backup, storage, infrastructure, and middleware platforms.
• Take charge of solutioning and pricing components for bids and RFP responses across multiple service lines.
• Collaborate closely with delivery and engineering teams to ensure smooth implementation of designed solutions.
• Engage with vendors to negotiate optimal pricing, foster strong partnerships, and stay informed on emerging technologies.
• Mentor and support architects and engineers to enhance their technical capabilities and identify new business prospects and service enhancements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in designing, installing, or supporting Microsoft, Oracle, or VMware solutions.
• Between 1 and 5 years of experience scoping and pricing infrastructure or cloud-related project services.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure, including strategies for migrating from on-premises to cloud.
• Proven track record of preparing ROMs, SOWs, proposals, and high-level designs for medium to large customers.
• Sound commercial insight and experience in pricing project and managed service engagements.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management, communication, and presentation.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with backup, storage, and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Zerto, or Nutanix.
• Experience with enterprise management and automation tools, for example ITSM, monitoring, and asset management platforms.
• Background working within complex commercial frameworks or bid teams.
• Certifications in Microsoft technologies, ITIL, project management, or architecture frameworks.
