Our CTCT division, a collaborative venture of Trimble and Caterpillar, develops advanced positioning, control, and automation technologies for earthmoving and paving machinery used in construction and mining sectors, leveraging GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, sonics, and IMUs to provide precise machine guidance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct API, integration, and system level testing on products throughout their development cycles.
  • Translate broad marketing requirements into detailed, user-focused specifications to aid development efforts.
  • Document software issues comprehensively by generating defect reports with pertinent diagnostic data to facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
  • Design and revise test and regression plans for new or replacement features and products.
  • Develop and update manual functional and non-functional test cases.
  • Build, run, and maintain automated test scripts aimed at streamlining testing and reducing manual workload.
  • Champion continuous enhancement of testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Assist in diagnosing and replicating issues escalated from customers.
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by management.

  • Actively participate in hazard identification and reporting mechanisms.
  • Accurately log incidents to support workplace safety.
  • Promote and contribute to a healthy and secure team environment.
  • Maintain a consistently clean and safe workspace.
  • Adhere strictly to all Safe Work Procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Observe all health and safety policies of CTCT and other relevant authorities during onsite and offsite work.
  • Complete required training to competently and safely operate equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in roles related to QA, software testing, or software engineering.
  • ISTQB certifications such as Foundation Level, Advanced Level, or Agile Tester, or equivalent credentials are advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of C++, Web technologies, or Android development is considered a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks is beneficial.

Additional Information

This role requires working onsite in Christchurch five days a week. Currently, the company does not offer visa sponsorship for this position and is not recruiting foreign nationals requiring sponsorship.
