Software Engineering Manager

Reporting to the CTO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the engineering team, charting the technical roadmap, and developing backend architecture as the company grows. Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a geographically distributed backend engineering team supporting essential financial products and platforms.
• Establish the technical roadmap, set engineering priorities, and define development standards for the backend function.
• Collaborate with product management, business operations, and control departments to transform business needs into scalable technical frameworks.
• Offer architectural direction for complex backend systems, particularly concerning scalability, reliability, consistency, and distributed processing challenges.
• Manage execution of immediate business objectives as well as long-term platform enhancements.
• Enhance engineering productivity by refining development practices, automating tasks, improving tooling, and integrating AI-assisted engineering workflows pragmatically.
• Handle essential people management duties such as recruitment, performance evaluation, team growth, and workforce planning.
• Work closely with other engineering teams and high-level stakeholders across multiple regions to ensure coordination.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of eight years in backend software engineering, including at least three years in an engineering management or leadership capacity.
• Proficient hands-on experience with Golang, C++, or Java programming languages.
• Comprehensive experience designing and maintaining large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of relational database systems, notably MySQL, focusing on transactions, consistency, and optimizing performance.
• Experience managing complex production environments where reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability are paramount.
• Capability to function effectively both as a technical authority and a people manager.

Preferred Expertise

• Background in fintech sectors such as payments, trading, asset management, digital assets, or other platforms involving transaction-intensive operations.
