AI Engineer - Computer Vision

About the Role

Our client, a leading technology company in the Consumer Electronics sector, is seeking an AI Engineer specializing in Computer Vision to join their R&D team located in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support for end-to-end AI model optimization processes.
• Handle diagnosing model issues, constructing datasets, and overseeing training and testing of perception algorithms including 2D/3D object detection, semantic segmentation, and occupancy grids.
• Develop Python code for iterative improvements in model optimization, backed by a solid understanding of algorithm fundamentals and characteristics.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines to perform multi-stage cleaning, transformation, annotation, and feature extraction from large volumes of raw data.
• Ensure the maintenance of data quality and consistency to meet high-speed data provisioning requirements for algorithm research and development.
• Systematize and platformize workflows involving data engineering and algorithm optimization, contributing to toolchain and module development.
• Drive standardized AI data engineering deployment and implementations to enhance overall R&D team productivity.
• Lead design and development initiatives for AI data engineering agents, facilitating intelligent and automated data processing capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or closely related fields.
• Proficiency in Python programming, including strong adherence to coding standards, engineering best practices, and debugging skills.
• Experience with AI Agents: understanding their operational principles, adept at utilizing agent tools to boost efficiency, and capable of designing and developing agent systems covering capability planning, framework design, and engineering implementation.
• Familiarity with at least one computer vision or perception algorithm category such as 2D/3D object detection, semantic segmentation, or occupancy grid, including knowledge of model principles, training procedures, and evaluation metrics.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, preferably including data cleaning, ETL, batch processing frameworks like Spark or Flink, or other high-performance data tools.
• Engineering mindset emphasizing abstraction of algorithm and data workflows into modular, reusable engineering components under a systematic development approach.
• Preferred backgrounds include autonomous driving, robotics, or visual perception domains; familiarity with model training frameworks such as PyTorch, distributed training techniques, or MLOps workflows is considered an advantage.
