Team and Project Context

Within Thales, our team delivers end-to-end solutions for dynamic Air Traffic Services, supporting increasing domestic and international air travel. We are responsible for Australia’s harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (OneSKY), improving safety, efficiency, delay reduction, and environmental sustainability.

Role Overview

The Software Engineering Instructor delivers and enhances customer training focused on the CMATS testing environment. Key duties include designing and running interactive training programs, developing quality instructional materials, managing training equipment and simulators, and continuously improving course content to ensure relevance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute engaging training curricula including course plans, materials, and assessments at our facility
• Create and update instructional resources such as presentations, instructor guides, exercises, and student content
• Support setup and functionality of training tools and simulators for effective practical learning
• Regularly review and refine training content and evaluation methods to align with latest standards

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Possession of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent
• Proven experience delivering in-person training, preferably in software engineering domains
• Specific experience with software engineering course delivery
• Background in configuring software systems and troubleshooting technical issues
• Hands-on familiarity with software testing and practical training methods

Additional Requirements

This position mandates a Defence security clearance; applicants must be Australian citizens eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance. Additional clearance details are accessible from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency. Some foreign security clearances may be considered for recognition under Australian regulations. Eligibility is subject to Australian Defence Trade Controls Act provisions regarding nationality.
