Role Overview

The Talent Manager role based in Sydney, with a hybrid work model (two days remote), focuses on recruiting, managing, and retaining elite legal talent to meet client demands effectively and propel the firm’s growth in Australia. Acting as the primary liaison for lawyers in designated practice areas, this position ensures the highest quality client and talent experiences while contributing to revenue development through strategic talent alignment.

Primary Duties

• Execute Axiom’s Talent Acquisition plan to source top legal talent through varied channels aligned with company expansion and client requirements.
• Partner directly with lawyers and legal professionals in specific practice areas to improve the overall experience for clients and talent.
• Oversee the end-to-end legal talent lifecycle fostering exceptional standards of service.
• Coordinate with Sales teams to fulfill client staffing requests, boosting revenue by placing the optimal talent on engagements.
• Leverage deep talent insights to influence and tailor client needs precisely.
• Develop strong communication channels with legal talent, managing expectations and retention actions.
• Work cross-functionally within Axiom to cultivate and maintain a premier talent pool.
• Monitor talent utilization rates and proactively engage talent with new opportunities to ensure continuous involvement.
• Achieve key performance indicators such as time-to-fill, hiring targets, retention, usage rates, and conversion percentages.

Qualifications & Experience

• Significant background (minimum 5 years) in recruiting legal services, demonstrating a passion for evolving the legal industry.
• Ability to evaluate candidate competencies and preferences to match them effectively with client demands.
• Experienced in interaction with senior lawyers, clients, and leadership within Sales and global talent teams.
• Strong recruitment sales acumen combined with creative problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments, maintaining high quality standards.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
• Eligible and authorized to work full-time in Sydney with office attendance at least three days per week.
