Join Compare the Market as a Software Engineer focused on Commercial Journeys in our Technology division based in London. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and leadership to design software solutions balancing technical and operational trade-offs.
- Engage with various engineering teams to enhance efficiency and minimize bottlenecks across the organization.
- Own critical phases of the development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, security, and ongoing maintenance.
- Embed robust testing and security practices into the software delivery process.
- Participate actively in engineering communities of practice to share and develop knowledge.
- Engage fully in team processes such as pair programming, code and documentation reviews, and continuous delivery practices.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in Node.js with a backend emphasis, proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and preferably some exposure to .NET technologies.
- Familiarity with agentic AI workflows and their integration.
- Track record of building scalable and highly available software services and products.
- Experience in designing, maintaining, and optimizing build, test, and deployment pipelines for resilient software delivery.
- Solid understanding of security engineering principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities and capability to rally teams around challenges.
- Comfort working within agile frameworks and applying lean thinking methodologies.
- Commitment to continuous learning to advance both technical and professional skills.
