Software Development Manager, Store Acceleration Tech

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team within the Store Acceleration Technology group at our new Bangalore development center. This role involves developing an in-depth understanding of our business needs, collaborating across locations, owning the architecture, and ensuring the successful delivery of software systems. The manager will guide a talented engineering team supporting multiple enterprise clients, balancing system stability with new innovations to advance organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 8-10 engineers, overseeing diverse projects and empowering the team to deliver enduring technical solutions.
• Drive roadmap implementation for your technical domain in partnership with Product Management and customers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to innovate and shape next-generation solutions within your area.
• Foster the growth and development of software engineers through structured performance management and career planning.

Engineering Challenges

• Own and maintain complex systems that enable autonomous store operations.
• Design and build highly scalable systems capable of handling billions of transactions.
• Influence supply chain architectural evolution and technology decisions across multiple organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Over 3 years of experience managing engineering teams.
• More than 7 years of total engineering experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in defining and developing multi-tier web services.
• Strong knowledge of software, hardware, and network development life cycles, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live system operations.
• Experience collaborating closely with product or program management teams.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe product features and strategies.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and coaching software engineering teams to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
