Software Development Manager - AWS Supply Chain

About the Role and Team

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of Amazon Web Services' global infrastructure – encompassing data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. Our goal is to provide uninterrupted access to innovative cloud services for our customers worldwide.

Joining our diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations professionals, you will collaborate broadly across AWS to maintain the highest safety and security standards while delivering vast computing capacity at minimal costs.

The AWS Supply Chain team develops end-to-end automation solutions to manage and control our expanded global cloud footprint, facilitating rapid growth. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact hundreds of thousands of developers and organizations relying on AWS daily.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of varied software products as a technical manager.
• Define strategic roadmaps for software teams to create innovative customer experiences.
• Architect and build highly scalable distributed systems that ensure availability, scalability, and low latency within the Supply Chain domain.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, contributing to coding and delivering business-impacting software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within a fast-paced environment to drive supply chain software, product, and business innovations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years managing engineering teams, with at least 7 years of experience as a software engineer or developer.
• Understanding of full software/hardware/network development lifecycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
• Preferred experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leaders to gather requirements and define product strategies.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Over 8 years leading multi-tier web services development preferred.
• Experience collaborating with product or program management teams is a plus.
