Job description
About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) operates one of the world's largest global networks supporting its cloud infrastructure. To manage this vast scale, transformative approaches to network design, construction, and operations are in place. AWS develops innovative software and algorithms to oversee all network layers, from top of the rack switches to routers facing internet and private backbones. This software ecosystem is intended to be intelligent, scalable, and resilient. The Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) team is dedicated to building vital services that will help achieve the vision of self-managed networks.
We are assembling a team of engineers tasked with creating foundational network services within our Software Defined Networking (SDN) infrastructure. The primary focus will be to design and maintain a closed-loop system that manages reservation of network resources linked to procurement activities, bridging the gap between network capacity planning and automation. This role is essential in moving towards a fully adaptive, self-managed network.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, reliable services that handle network configuration lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and partner engineering teams to develop advanced solutions integrating modern technologies, algorithms, and innovations.
- Create and evolve the technical roadmap for software services within this domain.
- Develop a strong career trajectory with a steep learning curve, all while enjoying the work and making impactful contributions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Background in designing or architecting systems emphasizing design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Proven experience delivering complex software solutions to customers successfully.
