Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer (L2) / Senior Engineer specializing in web applications to join the Digital Product Engineering WebApps team. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of high-performance, scalable web applications serving millions globally, focusing on performance, accessibility, and maintainable software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and modern web apps using TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, UX designers, backend developers, and QA to deliver new features.
• Create reusable and modular frontend components adhering to best engineering standards.
• Ensure web apps meet high standards for performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and reliability.
• Integrate frontend solutions with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend systems.
• Diagnose and fix performance issues, bugs, and production defects timely.
• Participate actively in architectural discussions and frontend design decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code.
• Evaluate and incorporate modern web technologies and best practices continuously.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and platform engineering for quality product releases.
• Support deployment activities and troubleshoot critical production issues when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in developing modern web applications.
• Expertise in TypeScript and CSS3.
• Proficient with React.js, Next.js, and other modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of component-based architecture, state management, and responsive design principles.
• Experience using Git, conducting code reviews, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of frontend architectural design and software design principles.
• Experience with server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in an Agile, collaborative environment.
