Software Development Engineer - Enterprise (Java & Security)

We develop scalable, reliable distributed software that runs on-premises and cloud environments, making geospatial data accessible on any device, anytime, anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop server-side components and web services in Java that enhance user experiences and facilitate geospatial workflows.
• Create enterprise-grade features such as backup, restoration, and geographic redundancy across components on Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes platforms.
• Design cloud native solutions compatible with major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Prototype, architect, implement, and deliver scalable, fault-tolerant software capable of concurrent processing.
• Incorporate leading technologies like Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, and Kubernetes to build innovative software features.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot bugs and performance issues across the software ecosystem.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and embed them effectively into software products.

Essential Qualifications

• 2 to 6 years of experience in developing middleware using Java, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Solid grounding in application security fundamentals including TLS/HTTPS, certificates, transit encryption, keystores/truststores, and secure inter-service communication.
• Understanding of distributed systems principles and enterprise readiness concepts such as high availability and disaster recovery.
• Experience working with Docker containers and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with relational database systems like SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
• Experience managing and navigating large codebases and distributed systems.
• Strong skills in debugging and profiling tools such as Eclipse/IntelliJ Debugger and JProfiler.
• Excellent communication skills and proficient time management capabilities.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Valid work authorization to work in India.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud services like Amazon S3, SQS, EC2 and Azure Blob, Table services, among others.
• Knowledge and experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, Spring Security, SAML, RBAC, and identity providers.
• Experience with diverse Kubernetes engines such as EKS, AKS, and GKE.
• Certifications related to AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Advanced degree such as Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
