Software Architect

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven Software Architect to join our Architecture team, contributing to the design and architecture of a cutting-edge cloud platform. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering and Product teams across business units to ensure architectural plans are implemented effectively, delivering scalable enterprise solutions.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience with the Microsoft technology stack including associated infrastructure, DevOps, and security, combined with strong development capabilities and a bias toward best practices and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering management to shape the product roadmap and technical designs.
• Lead architecture and implementation of a secure, cost-effective, reliable, scalable, and high-performance cloud platform.
• Establish and uphold standards and best practices in software architecture.
• Design and develop scalable and secure software solutions aligning with architectural goals.
• Effectively communicate non-functional requirements and architectural designs both verbally and in documentation.
• Identify strategic technical debt and work towards its mitigation.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure conformity with architectural frameworks.
• Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to enhance platform quality.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to development teams.
• Contribute actively to the development of core platform packages and templates.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to continuously improve the platform offering.
• Work alongside Architecture, DevOps, and Platform Engineering to automate deployments, enforce governance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Safeguard data privacy, security, and conform to all relevant policies and standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• Over 3 years experience in Software, Technical or Solution architecture roles.
• Strong grasp of cloud-native architectures and design patterns.
• Experience designing distributed enterprise systems that scale to high traffic volumes.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to solving complex technical problems.
• Expertise in the Microsoft technology stack, including .NET (C#), Web API, Azure services (Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, Azure Front Door), and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform technologies such as GKE, PostgreSQL, and Cloud Functions.
• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like Angular and React.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, including Domain-Driven Design, Test-Driven Development, and CI/CD.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, microservices, and Kafka.
• Exposure to container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Microsoft Azure and .NET certifications are advantageous.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance design and coding productivity.
• Keen interest in AI technologies and their application to accelerate delivery and add business value.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and aptitude for continuous learning.
• Excellent communication abilities, documentation skills, and stakeholder management experience.
