Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to provide compassionate support and assistance to elderly residents within a care home setting. The position involves leading a team committed to supporting vulnerable adults in a residential environment, including both day and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Safely administer prescribed medications to residents.
  • Take charge as a key worker, fostering supportive relationships with service users.
  • Assist in implementing reablement plans aimed at enhancing service users' abilities.
  • Engage actively in planning, monitoring, and documenting the delivery of care services.
  • Serve as shift lead, assuming temporary overall charge of care home operations when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants must hold at least an SVQ Level 2 in Social Care or an equivalent qualification, which is necessary for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). A commitment to pursue further training achieving SVQ Level 3 in Social Care is required. Strong communication skills, capability to work independently and within a team, along with the ability to handle unpredictable situations effectively under pressure, are essential.
