In addition to hospital services, the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel offers accommodation, hospitality, and conference facilities catering to patients, visitors, delegates, and healthcare staff from across Scotland. Role Overview

We seek a Hotel Front Office Host to join our Front Office team. This dynamic position places you at the forefront of guest engagement, supporting reception, reservations, the switchboard, and guest services operations. Your contributions will directly enhance the quality and smooth running of hospitality services within the hotel connected to the hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering a professional reception service to guests, patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate departments and facilities.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and providing information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Operating the hotel switchboard effectively to handle calls.
  • Managing reservation processes as well as check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Supporting departments including conferences, housekeeping, and food and beverage services as needed.
  • Accurately handling financial transactions, billing, and cash processes.
  • Upholding health, safety, and security protocols at all times.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Conference Hotel and National Hospital to ensure excellent service.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in hotel reception or a customer service role.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
  • Proficient IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office, email, and internet tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts.
  • Capability to stay calm and act effectively during emergencies.

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Experience in food and beverage service or preparation.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection rules.
  • Familiarity with Glasgow and nearby areas.
  • Full UK driving license (preferred).
