Site Supervisor

Job Overview

We are looking for a responsible and skilled Site Supervisor with an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil disciplines to manage and coordinate daily activities related to mechanical repairs, painting, overhauling, fabrication, and maintenance of railway coaches and wagons at railway workshops, mainly in Mumbai and nearby areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and organize mechanical repair, painting, overhauling, and fabrication tasks for railway coaches.
• Develop and monitor plans to ensure assigned projects are finished on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Efficiently supervise labour forces and subcontractors to optimize performance.
• Keep accurate daily records including work progress, attendance, material usage, and assist with billing documentation.
• Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available and in use on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship aligns with prescribed railway standards and specifications.
• Coordinate communication between workshop authorities, engineers, inspectors, and company management.
• Enforce safety procedures, making sure all workers properly use PPE.
• Support inspections, audits, and quality checks to maintain operational standards.
• Provide management with updates regarding site progress, challenges, delays, and resource needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

• MUST possess an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil engineering.
• Proven experience in supervising railway maintenance or related mechanical workshop operations.
• Strong ability to manage labor teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hands-on experience enforcing them effectively.
• Skilled in documentation and site record maintenance for work progress and billing.
• Good coordination and communication skills with multiple stakeholders including engineers, inspectors, and management.
