Site Engineer

Job Overview

Sanras Builders Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to become part of our construction team in Kenya. The role demands precision in layout tasks, effective coordination, and thorough supervision to ensure construction complies with the specified plans and standards.

Primary Duties

• Precisely execute setting out of building works in line with architectural and structural blueprints.
• Interpret and apply architectural, structural, and construction drawings accurately on-site.
• Oversee and manage subcontractors, guaranteeing that their activities adhere to plans, quality standards, and project timelines.
• Lead coordination meetings with subcontractors and document site progress through detailed reports and minutes.
• Comprehend work scopes thoroughly and confidently address queries related to technical and site matters.
• Detect inconsistencies between drawings and actual site conditions and engage relevant consultants to resolve issues promptly.
• Supervise workmanship quality, measurement accuracy, and alignment to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Keep detailed site records and consistently update progress information.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, or related disciplines.
• Strong proficiency with construction drawings and setting-out methods.
• Hands-on experience in site operations with keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity to operate independently and assume responsibility for on-site activities.
