Shift Lead

Overview

As a Shift Lead at Walgreens in Easton, PA, you will oversee store operations in the absence of management, ensuring smooth store openings and closings, accurate cash handling, and readiness for the business day. This role integrates customer engagement with operational accountability while fostering team collaboration and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and close the store independently, handling system startups, cash management, and preparation of sales floor and stockroom.
• Manage product returns, void orders, customer refunds, cash drops to safes, and register change provisioning.
• Deliver a remarkable customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and patients, resolving queries, and modeling exceptional service standards.
• Hold store keys to manage store access when management is unavailable.
• Support team members in order processes including warehouse and vendor ordering and receiving deliveries.
• Ensure accurate registration of sales, manage scanning errors, price verifications, price modifications, and void transactions.
• Assist management in reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics, and merchandise displays including promotional and seasonal resets.
• Maintain precise inventory counts and manage product placement following first-in, first-out protocols.
• Manage department pricing and signage, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely price changes.
• Contribute to bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, counts, ledger maintenance, and bill payments as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and upkeep, coordinating repairs in management’s absence.
• Ensure compliance with local laws on regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Perform team member bag checks before store exit to uphold security policies.
• Communicate and assign tasks to team members in management's absence, reporting disciplinary and customer issues promptly.
• Participate in training programs and complete required professional learning modules.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of leadership, supervisory, or key holder experience in retail.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English (except Puerto Rico).
• Preferred knowledge includes inventory control.
• Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered fairly.
• Maintaining a valid PTCB certification or relevant pharmacy license as required by the state is preferred.
