About the Opportunity

Role Overview
In the role of Service Worker II, you will prepare and sanitize instruments and specialized equipment to ensure they are ready for immediate use by healthcare personnel. Your duties will include distributing and restocking patient care supplies, conducting quality checks on equipment, and maintaining records related to equipment upkeep. Additionally, you may be responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, lab specimens, blood products, and patient charts. You will promptly communicate any supply or safety issues to the Unit Managers and fulfill other related tasks as needed. Ensuring patient care and other assigned areas are fully stocked and the necessary specialty equipment is accessible will be part of your responsibilities.
Work Conditions and Schedule
- Location: Rocky Mountain House Healthcare Centre
- Employment: Temporary Full-Time
- Shift Pattern: Day shifts with 7.75 hours per shift
- Shifts per 4-week cycle: 19
- Days Off: According to rotation schedule
- Temporary Employment Period: September 20, 2026 to September 10, 2027
- Union: AUPE GSS Unit
Compensation
Salary ranges from $23.30 to $25.40 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning, disinfection procedures, and inventory management.
- Fundamental computer skills to complete electronic checklists and forms.
- Proficiency in English to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds, stand and walk extensively during shifts, and perform bending, crouching, and twisting motions without limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleaning duties in hospital or institutional settings.
- Knowledge of medical equipment handling and maintenance.
- Basic Life Support certification at the healthcare provider level.
