Job Description

The daytime Order Preparation Associate will be responsible for receiving picking lists that detail required products for order assembly and prioritizing them based on execution sequence. This role involves retrieving items from various store departments efficiently, carefully packing orders to prevent damage, accurately labeling, and staging them in designated storage areas until dispatch and loading onto delivery trucks.

This position is part of the Service Counter team and requires comfort in handling basic customer order transactions such as processing returns and sales at the point of sale, responding to customer phone inquiries, and accessing order details or remarks in the customer order management system (GCC).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service following the Home Depot ACT model: greet customers, build rapport, and close with thanks.
• Collect all items necessary to promptly fulfill orders using the "Order Fulfillment" application.
• Load delivery vehicles and place pick-up orders in the parking lot in compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain organized storage space to accommodate pending orders.
• Pack and label orders meticulously to prevent product damage during transit.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Safely move merchandise between temporary storage and higher or lower shelving using appropriate equipment.

Physical and Work Conditions

• Capability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, twist; lift, push, pull and move items.
• Occasional ability to lift and transport heavy or bulky products independently.
• Use of ladders height ranging 3.5 to 5 meters to retrieve or store merchandise.
• Variable work schedule including night shifts, evenings, and weekends.
• Warehouse environment may be dusty and noisy.
• Exposure to fuel emissions from forklifts.
• Frequent open doors causing drafts and temperature fluctuations.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of experience in retail or distribution is an asset.
• Experience operating retractable forklifts and elevating order pickers is advantageous.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between $20.35 and $22.10 per hour.
