Service Ambassador

Position Summary

The Service Ambassador plays a crucial role in escorting suppliers into secure Hydro One facilities, scheduling vendor appointments, and completing job plans while ensuring strict compliance with health and safety protocols. This role also involves maintenance work following established procedures and adherence to environmental, safety, and fire protection standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide escort services for vendors within secured operational areas.
• Ensure all visitors sign in and sign out following approved protocols.
• Schedule and coordinate supplier visits and complete vendor job documentation.
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors and clients, representing the company positively.
• Keep supervisors updated on unusual situations or challenges encountered onsite.
• Conduct site inspections including Ministry of Environment testing and fire life safety inspections/repairs.
• Handle work protections in high voltage settings when necessary.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure according to schedule or on demand.
• Comply with all internal and external regulations related to environment, health, safety, and fire protection.
• Provide observations on facility conditions, deficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Log maintenance activities in the service maintenance management system ensuring quality and compliance with contract terms.
• Track and report the status of maintenance and repair tasks and obtain necessary approvals for work orders.
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs by identifying and escalating deficiencies with proper documentation.
• Participate in facility-related projects as required.
• Maintain tools and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Be flexible to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency situations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and safely handle material up to 50 lbs.
• Drive to multiple job sites as necessary and interpret building blueprints and electrical diagrams.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Between one to three years' experience in facility operations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Hydro One’s work environment is essential.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of Hydro One electrical equipment and control systems is advantageous.
• Strong adherence to facility maintenance processes and operational protocols.
• Good troubleshooting skills for building systems.
• Knowledge of current fire, life safety, building codes, and standards is an asset.
• Demonstrated commitment to environmental, health, and safety best practices and ability to identify hazards.
• Effective communication skills for data sharing, feedback, and clarification.
• Understanding of safety and security standards with the ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
• Ability to complete tasks accurately, safely, and cost-effectively while following Hydro One policies.
• Ability to collaborate well with coworkers, vendors, and regulatory personnel.
• Training and knowledge in mechanical and electrical trades are required.
• Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Preferred certifications include OSHA Competent Person, lockout/tagout procedures, trades training (mechanical/electrical), and building operator certification.

Employment Details

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Timmins, Ontario, Canada with an annual salary range from $54,185 to $67,732. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and performance related to this role.
