Role Overview
As a Server, you will contribute to a positive dining experience by assisting with meal preparation and service in a fast-paced setting, supporting the health and well-being of our residents. Your role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant atmosphere while building meaningful relationships with each resident.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hospitality-style dining services following the Ready, Set, Serve Program, including setting, serving, and clearing tables.
- Assist chefs with food preparation and presentation under their direction.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards compliant with health department regulations are upheld in all food preparation and service areas.
- Promote and monitor sales of a la carte items and wine in line with company protocols.
- Adhere to provincial laws, food and beverage policies, and ORCA standards to maintain department readiness.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and attend related training sessions.
- Operate in compliance with Health and Safety Policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of Smart Serve or Serve It Right (SIRS) certification (dependent on location) with at least one year of dining room service experience.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Safe Food Handling certification is preferred.
- Experience working with seniors and understanding of the aging process considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with residents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada, including valid work or study permits where applicable.
- Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records Checks.
