Laundry Aide - Permanent Full-Time Evenings

Role Overview

Join Sienna Senior Living's Tullamore Community in Brampton as a Laundry Aide. This essential position plays a vital role in enhancing resident experience by delivering dedicated laundry and linen services within a supportive community.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage clothing and linen handling by collecting, distributing, processing, and inventory control.
• Sort linens and personal clothing; operate washers, dryers; perform ironing and mending as necessary.
• Fold, sort, and organize laundry items onto carts for delivery, inspecting linens for labels and mending needs.
• Identify and properly discard unusable inventory, maintaining accurate records.
• Upkeep of high sanitation standards, maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, follow infection control protocols as required.
• Monitor laundry machines’ operation and promptly report malfunctions to leadership.
• Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and stock of supplies.
• Perform scheduled cleaning duties within the laundry area to maintain hygiene and safety.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, following infection control best practices.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• Familiarity with infection control procedures, cleaning methods, and housekeeping equipment.
• Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members and residents.
• Successful completion of the Vulnerable Sector Check for Ontario applicants.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check for British Columbia applicants.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in institutional cleaning or laundry services in long-term care or retirement residence settings is advantageous.
