Role Overview
Our client, a prominent banking organization with extensive international operations, is recognized for its commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in the financial sector. The Senior Vice President – Strategy Development will hold a critical role on the senior leadership team, tasked with crafting and executing the group's strategic agenda across different business units, functional areas, and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and formulate strategies at the enterprise, regional, country, business, and functional levels, covering phases from market and strategic analysis to advising on prioritization and execution.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to top leadership and senior business executives, offering insights on growth opportunities, competitive landscapes, market trends, and strategic priorities.
- Manage a portfolio of complex, high-priority strategic projects concurrently, ensuring thorough analysis, clear decision-making, and impactful results.
- Drive strategic planning and performance oversight, including developing financial plans, KPIs, market sizing exercises, business cases, and performance reviews aimed at sustainable growth and profitability.
- Build and mentor a high-caliber strategy team by fostering analytical rigor, commercial acumen, innovation, and effective execution skills.
- Foster strong collaboration with leaders across business units and international offices to align strategies, governance, and execution mechanisms.
- Enhance and standardize strategy methodologies, frameworks, and governance processes while ensuring compliance with risk, regulatory, and control standards.
Candidate Profile
- Over 15 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 7 years specializing in strategy development, corporate strategy, or management consulting, with proven advancement and leadership credentials.
- Preference for candidates from leading strategy consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey & Company, BCG, Bain, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger) or senior strategy roles within global financial services firms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, enterprise-wide strategy projects from inception through to implementation, spanning multiple markets or business units.
- Experience interfacing with Executive Management and Board members, coupled with outstanding communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Track record of leading, inspiring, and developing strategy teams within large, multinational organizations.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, business insight, and problem-solving abilities with deep understanding of the financial services industry and international markets.
- Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a prestigious institution; an MBA is highly desirable.
