Position Overview
The Senior Transport Engineer will spearhead and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of transport infrastructure projects. This role requires a solid foundation in traffic engineering, transport planning, and multi-modal design, alongside capabilities in managing complex projects and providing mentorship to less experienced team members.
Primary Duties
- Lead the design and technical delivery of transport infrastructure elements such as roads, intersections, and traffic systems.
- Conduct traffic impact assessments, transport modelling studies, and feasibility analyses.
- Utilize software applications like SIDRA, AIMSUN, and VISSIM for network analysis and traffic simulation.
- Ensure all projects adhere to UAE transport regulations and international standards, with preference for candidates experienced in Abu Dhabi alongside developers and the ITC authority.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with ITC and other transport authorities.
- Work closely with clients, authorities, and internal teams to align project goals and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support their professional growth.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and presentations for various stakeholders.
- Assist in tender preparations and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transport Engineering; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Between 8 to 10 years of experience in transport engineering, ideally within the UAE or broader GCC region.
- Proficient user of traffic modelling software including SIDRA, AIMSUN, and VISSIM.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAE transport authority guidelines and standards.
- Exceptional communication, coordination, and engagement skills with diverse stakeholders.
