About the Role
Jacobs is dedicated to tackling the world's most critical challenges through innovative solutions that benefit cities, the environment, and industries globally. Our expanding Energy and Power division is leading the way in high voltage transmission line projects across New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region. We are seeking a Senior Transmission Lines Engineer to join our established team, contributing from initial design phases to construction support for infrastructure projects critical to the energy transition.
This position provides flexibility to work from various locations across New Zealand including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or fully remote. You'll collaborate closely with experienced engineers locally and internationally, gaining opportunities to expand your expertise and partake in diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and delivery of high voltage transmission line projects throughout New Zealand and the wider APAC area.
- Engage in all project stages from early conceptual design to detailed construction support.
- Work collaboratively with regional teams and specialist networks, contributing knowledge and support across borders.
- Attend site visits, including remote locations, to ensure alignment between design and implementation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience in transmission line engineering and design.
- A relevant engineering degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.
- Proficiency with transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, TOWER, or POLE.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards including AS/NZS, IEEE, and IEC.
- Ability to approach complex problems pragmatically and work effectively in team environments.
