About Jacobs and the Role

As a Highways Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering major transportation projects across Ireland and the UK that create community connectivity, stimulate growth, and promote sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee projects from initial feasibility studies and concept planning to detailed design and execution phases. Your leadership will ensure superior technical direction on a variety of complex assets such as major highway infrastructures, intricate junctions, and active travel schemes, guaranteeing compliance with relevant standards while fostering innovation.
Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, you will offer reliable guidance and facilitate teamwork throughout all project phases. With significant programmes underway for national and regional transport authorities and local government, you will play a crucial role in influencing transport infrastructure on a national scale.

- Dublin City Active Travel initiatives
- Dublin MetroLink and Cork Light Rail Transit
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status recognized by Engineers Ireland or equivalent body
- Comprehensive knowledge of TII publications, UK DMRB standards, and Active Travel guidelines
- Demonstrated technical experience on major highway, local road, or active travel projects alongside understanding of health and safety legislation
- Experience in construction supervision and conducting road safety audits
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM)
