Role Overview

As a Highways Engineer working across Ireland and the UK, you will play a vital role in executing significant transportation projects. Your expertise will contribute to connecting communities, fostering growth, and promoting sustainability through infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery from feasibility and conceptual stages through to detailed design and implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership across a varied portfolio including major highways infrastructure, complex junctions, and active travel projects.
  • Ensure design outcomes meet high standards of innovation, quality, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary teams, offering expert advice and fostering cooperative relationships throughout all project phases.
  • Engage in nationally important programs for organizations such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority, Irish Rail, local councils, and key contractors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (Level 8) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer accreditation with Engineers Ireland or a comparable body.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland publications, UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges standards, and Active Travel guidelines.
  • Substantial hands-on experience with major highways, local road, or active travel projects, including health and safety legislation compliance.
  • Demonstrated background in construction supervision and road safety assessments.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM).
