About the Role
This Senior Technical Program Manager position supports the Windows Fundamentals Compatibility team focused on ensuring that millions of Windows applications and devices perform seamlessly. Despite the apparent simplicity, this is a challenging mission given the frequent feature updates and security patches deployed monthly to billions of Windows devices worldwide. The role involves driving quality and consistent behavior of apps and devices across both retail and commercial customer environments.
Working in compatibility requires deep understanding of the operating system and application interactions. The team is responsible for maintaining core inbox functionalities to prevent issues, supporting services that keep Windows devices operating smoothly, and playing a key role in delivering every major Windows update. AI implementation is a core element to achieve these goals. This position requires strong problem-solving skills to design features and processes for the Compatibility group and partner effectively across organizational teams.
Ultimately, this role is instrumental in enabling the release of high-quality Microsoft operating systems and ensuring a robust ecosystem for compatible applications and devices.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead cross-team initiatives focused on enhancing Windows Compatibility.
- Utilize data analytics to address customer challenges and inform strategic decisions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to embed compatibility considerations from the design phase onward.
- Innovate in applying AI technologies across all facets of the Compatibility team's operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree along with experience in engineering, technical/program management, data analysis, or product development; or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven capability to manage projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience in writing or interpreting code, such as producing sample documentation or product demonstrations.
- Strong history of successful cross-group collaboration in complex projects.
- Highly ambitious, proactive, self-driven, and focused on delivering impactful results.
- 3+ years of program management in operating systems, embedded systems, or similarly complex technical domains preferred.
Additional Information
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from €77,400 to €130,000 annually, with potential eligibility for benefits and other forms of compensation. The position will remain open for at least five days and will continue accepting applications until filled.
