Job description

Overview

The Consulting Account Manager position focuses on driving sales of Microsoft consulting, Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD), and Unified support services within government and public-sector accounts in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. The role is based on the East Coast of Australia and involves originating, qualifying, and closing services deals, including large Whole-of-Government contracts. The primary customer base is in Healthcare, so experience in this sector is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of services opportunities in VIC, NSW, and QLD government and public-sector accounts with accurate forecasting and CRM compliance.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead qualification through deal closure for consulting, ISD, and Unified support agreements.
  • Collaborate with account teams to create and implement account plans aligning Microsoft services with customer priorities and contract renewal schedules, such as EA, MACC, and Unified agreements.
  • Establish and nurture trusted relationships with key business and technical stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Lead cross-functional pursuit groups comprising specialists, delivery teams, deal desks, and legal advisors to prepare compliant and value-focused proposals.
  • Navigate public-sector procurement regulations and Whole-of-Government frameworks, assisting in deal approvals and risk evaluations.
  • Achieve quarterly and yearly revenue and consumption objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record in enterprise solution, services, or consulting sales with consistent quota achievement.
  • Strong skills in consultative selling, with the ability to align customer outcomes with services proposals.
  • Experience selling services to large, complex government or public-sector accounts; Healthcare sector experience is preferred.
  • Disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting practices.
  • Excellent management of stakeholders, communication skills, and ability to coordinate teams.
  • Availability for travel, particularly to VIC, NSW, and QLD clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Security, plus Unified support services.
  • Existing contacts within Western Australian and South Australian government markets and ecosystems.
