Senior Technical Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Wellington, New Zealand, with the possibility of an extension. This role requires significant experience in compliance, regulatory requirements, and scheme-related initiatives within the banking and payments domain, especially focusing on card issuing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert capability to interpret, assess, and implement mandated changes across card systems ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives by advising on necessary system updates and enhancements.
• Collaborate with key technical stakeholders such as product owners and development teams to support compliance implementations.
• Work within the Cards ecosystem to deliver and support mandated changes effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum five years of professional experience in banking, payments, or card issuing domains.
• Strong familiarity with system architecture and integration processes.
• Proficiency in requirements elicitation, business process modeling, impact assessment, and development of business cases.
• Experience writing detailed user stories, supporting Agile delivery, backlog management, release planning, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Understanding of regulatory analysis, compliance impact assessments, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
• Skilled in stakeholder management including vendor engagement, clear verbal and written communication, and cross-functional facilitation.
• Experience across multiple technology platforms and vendor environments.
• Background supporting Agile, hybrid, or large-scale program delivery models.
• Preferred experience includes working directly with card issuing platforms, payment processing solutions, and managing external vendors and third-party service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in ICT or related field.
