About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Technical Artist who embraces technology and innovation to elevate our art and pipeline tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, enhance, and sustain tools and workflows supporting artists across Art, Animation, and Visual Effects teams.
  • Develop and maintain photogrammetry pipelines and provide support for live scan operations.
  • Design and implement automated solutions for processing data efficiently.
  • Continuously stay updated on the latest advancements in data pipeline technology and machine learning relevant to art production.
  • Draft comprehensive documentation detailing tools and workflow processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges affecting the artists' productivity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Technical Artist, Technical Director, Tools Programmer, or equivalent role.
  • Proven ability developing tools for Digital Content Creation applications such as Houdini, ZBrush, Agisoft, or Metashape.
  • Experience participating through a full game production cycle or a substantial long-term project.
  • In-depth knowledge of Photogrammetry workflows and associated software.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Familiarity with build and automation systems like Jenkins, Airflow, or Celery.
  • Solid understanding of 3D asset pipelines and color management techniques.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to invent innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Educational background in Computer Science or related field.
  • Programming experience in C++.
  • Experience working with package management systems such as Rez or PyPi.
  • Knowledge or experience with machine learning-driven photogrammetry workflows including Gaussian Splats or NeRFs.

Compensation and Inclusion

The expected starting salary range for this position in Ontario is $105,000 to $115,000 CAD annually, with potential additional bonuses and equity awards.
