The Rockstar Game Security team safeguards players, employees, and intellectual property by addressing malicious activities and insider threats. This team partners closely with various departments to enhance and enforce robust security solutions.

Role Overview

The Associate Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst will lead efforts to identify and analyze potential threats targeting Rockstar’s Live Service titles and organizational infrastructure. This role requires a deep knowledge of intelligence and investigation methodologies, exceptional analytical capability, and vigilance in detecting emerging risks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Detect and counter fraudulent and malicious actions through open-source intelligence (OSINT), proprietary tools, and investigative techniques.
• Lead intricate investigations involving collection, analysis, and synthesis of data from multiple sources.
• Maintain ongoing intelligence on relevant entities and advancing threats.
• Produce consistent, thorough investigative reports and intelligence deliverables.
• Assist in security incident responses and resolve escalations as necessary.
• Advance investigative workflows through automation and tool development.
• Create and sustain reporting metrics to evaluate program success and guide decisions.
• Keep abreast of latest developments in technology, investigative strategies, and threat environments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in threat intelligence, investigative roles, or related fields.
• Proficient in intelligence gathering, monitoring, and detailed investigative documentation.
• Experience conducting multifaceted investigations across digital platforms.
• Skilled in using data analysis tools such as SQL, Hadoop, or equivalents.
• Expertise in link analysis techniques and associated software.
• Knowledgeable about legal, regulatory, and compliance issues pertinent to investigations.
• Background in threat intelligence, OSINT, or internal/external investigative work is preferred.
• Familiar with security assessment tools and monitoring systems.

Additional Desired Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with tools like Maltego, Hunchly, Splunk, case management platforms, or relational databases.
• Familiarity with the dynamics of online gaming, live services, or large AAA multiplayer environments.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills with both technical and non-technical groups.
• Mentoring attitude including knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL or Python for automation and analysis tasks.
• Basic fluency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous.
