Senior System Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior System Engineer to oversee and maintain the enterprise IT infrastructure in Qatar. This position involves managing Windows-based systems, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing advanced technical support to keep IT operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor enterprise IT systems and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance.
• Install, configure, test, upgrade, and sustain Windows operating systems and related system management tools.
• Track system and application performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks proactively.
• Resolve complex technical issues and deliver 2nd and 3rd-level support services.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for system failures and interruptions to implement improvements.
• Apply preventive and corrective actions to enhance system stability and reliability.
• Manage security protocols, backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, and system redundancy strategies.
• Contribute to the design and execution of IT infrastructure and support systems operations.
• Create and update custom scripts to automate routine processes and elevate system efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors, developers, and internal IT teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Perform system testing and quality assurance to guarantee availability and performance standards.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documents, including reports, root-cause analyses, and solution documentation.
• Drive continuous improvements in infrastructure, monitoring, and operational workflows.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years’ professional experience in IT system administration or infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated expertise working with Windows Server and general Windows environments.
• Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtualized systems.
• Proficient in system performance monitoring and technical troubleshooting techniques.
• Solid understanding of backup strategies, security measures, redundancy, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experienced in providing 2nd and 3rd-level technical support.
• Familiarity with scripting languages and automation for system tasks.
• Ability to work closely with external vendors and internal enterprise IT teams.
