Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with extensive experience to build, sustain, and support enterprise-level applications. The role requires strict compliance with coding norms, architectural guidelines, high quality standards, and service-level agreements related to application support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Write and sustain application code following established coding standards, development procedures, and architecture frameworks.
- Create, implement, and maintain unit testing plans including automated test cases to ensure robustness and reliability of applications.
- Engage in technical design meetings, documentations, and comprehensive design reviews.
- Undertake full software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Manage application support tasks such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management, including performing root cause analyses and ensuring timely resolution of support issues compliant with SLAs.
- Conduct peer code reviews to uphold coding and quality standards, detect code issues, and assist in continuous process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with fellow developers, system architects, quality assurance teams, business stakeholders, and support personnel during all phases of the application lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical and design documents to accompany software solutions.
Experience and Skills Required
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with the software development life cycle and engineering methodologies.
- Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall development frameworks.
- Strong expertise in unit and automated testing techniques.
- Solid background in application support, including handling production issues and managing Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
- Familiarity with SLA management and timely resolution of support incidents.
- Comprehensive understanding of code quality measures, coding standards, and the peer review process.
- Good grasp of software architecture and design concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Additional Information
- Holding relevant technical or professional certifications will be advantageous.
