Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

We seek a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer with robust experience in structural design and oversight of extensive construction projects. The role involves thorough review and alignment of structural documentation, technical issue resolution, and cross-team collaboration to ensure compliance and quality in structural works.

Responsibilities

• Examine and coordinate detailed structural shop drawings, issued for construction (IFC) drawings, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Manage reinforced concrete, structural steel, precast components, foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and wall elements.
• Detect and resolve inconsistencies in design, constructability challenges, and technical problems encountered on-site.
• Draft and pursue requests for information (RFIs) and technical queries to clarify construction aspects.
• Facilitate coordination among Structural, Architectural, Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Construction, and Procurement departments.
• Assess BIM models, method statements, and material or technical submittals, ensuring adherence to approved standards.
• Support site teams technically to ensure structural work conforms to approved drawings and specifications.
• Track progress of engineering deliverables, including submissions, modifications, and approvals in line with project demands.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• More than 10 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering.
• Comprehensive understanding of reinforced concrete, steel structures, precast elements, and structural construction techniques.
• Familiarity with standards such as ACI, British Standards (BS), Saudi Building Code (SBC), and other relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in software tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, Navisworks, and SAP2000 or similar structural analysis software.
• Extensive practical knowledge in preparing shop drawings, coordinating BIM processes, managing RFIs, and performing site engineering duties.
• Experience working on large-scale and complex construction projects.
