Senior STF Forex Originator

Job Overview

The Senior STF Forex Originator will take primary responsibility for establishing, designing, and cultivating banking relationships in countries specified by the STF business strategy, with a central focus on transit trade or import-related activities. This role requires building the function from the ground up and demands a deep comprehension of economic and political risks across multiple nations, as well as familiarity with central bank regulations. Close collaboration with other STF team members—especially those focused on structuring and operations—is vital to successfully articulate and navigate these risks within transaction frameworks. The successful candidate must be a proactive business leader who exhibits strong commercial insight and innovative thinking to enhance STF group presence and bolster ADM group activities across the region.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze existing hedging transactions and leverage market trends to identify new revenue streams for the group in the region.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of economic conditions and foreign exchange regulatory frameworks in the targeted countries.
• Proactively generate and pursue new business opportunities by collaborating with ADM units and treasury groups to explore viable prospects.
• Lead deal execution from concept through implementation, working closely with STF colleagues to manage structuring and execution phases, ensuring successful transaction completion.
• Identify, assess, and clearly communicate transactional risks to the regional STF head, STF head, and relevant committees.
• Drive projects through to successful execution, engaging intensively with support functions.
• Operate within the established guidelines and procedures set by the STF unit and ADM group.
• Forge new banking partnerships that add strategic value to the ADM Group.

Applicant Profile

• Possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, banking, finance, or a closely related field.
• Bring 8 to 10 years of experience within financial institutions and/or corporate finance, ideally with exposure to structured trade finance in the foreign exchange domain.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of trade finance, FX markets, central bank regulations, and treasury operations.
• Exhibit a risk management mindset critical to developing new transaction structures and entering new markets.
• Show considerable experience in hedging markets across the Asia Pacific region.
• Maintain a self-driven approach with a strong inclination towards innovation and continuously finding novel ways to add value to group activities.
• Be numerically proficient with the ability to interpret and manage complex financial products and structures.
• Have a passion for acquiring new competencies and spearheading change as necessary.
• Possess strong influencing capabilities to engage stakeholders across various organizational levels and external partners including banks and corporates.
