Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Operations Manager in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. You'll oversee operational safety, efficiency, and compliance across our national operations, leading store managers and coordinating with third-party contractors to uphold ADM's high standards in environmental, health, safety, and service quality.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee ADM’s Environmental Management System including training, adherence, reporting, and compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Lead the New Zealand Storage Operations, managing product flow from arrival to farm delivery.
  • Support and supervise store managers and operational staff daily across multiple locations.
  • Implement strategies to reduce shrink loss annually and preserve product quality.
  • Provide effective managerial coverage for store managers when necessary.
  • Continuously seek and implement operational efficiencies and improvements.
  • Manage operational assets and oversee repair and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Execution Manager on Transitional Facility operations, including training, import documentation, and biosecurity compliance.
  • Conduct regular store visits ensuring top operational standards and manage relationships with external contractors.
  • Promote innovative initiatives to enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong team player with the ability to handle diverse and challenging responsibilities.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in operations management.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Agriculture, or closely related fields preferred.
  • Experience working in global organisations is advantageous.
  • Background in bulk commodity supply chains and agriculture, particularly grain and feedstuffs, is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of rural client needs and business drivers with empathy.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-motivation.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Efficient multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Supportive mindset and a dedicated, reliable work ethic.
