Team Overview

The team plays a key role in securing the platform by developing scalable AI systems that identify and prevent identity fraud, account takeovers, and large-scale abuse in real time on a global platform. The engineering efforts focus on building core AI security capabilities such as face and liveness verification, document validation, and multimodal risk assessments.

Role Summary

We seek a Senior Staff AI Engineer to lead the technical development of our AI security solutions. This role involves end-to-end responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex AI models deployed in production environments that handle real-time fraud detection and identity verification.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive AI projects including design, training, and deployment of advanced deep learning and multimodal models scalable to millions of users.
• Design and manage production-grade AI systems for OCR, biometric matching, fraud recognition, and generative AI content handling, ensuring low latency and high availability.
• Oversee technologies for face intelligence and liveness detection to counter fraudulent presentation attacks.
• Develop identity and trust signals by integrating behavioral and contextual data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed AI solutions into critical security systems while managing priorities and technical debt.
• Engage in applied research to incorporate latest AI advancements such as vision-language models and AI agents into practical defenses.
• Provide mentorship to senior engineers and promote best practices across the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience building AI/ML technologies with focus on computer vision, multimodal learning, and AI agent systems, including production deployments.
• Expertise in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow, and experience with large-scale AI systems in production environments.
• Proficient coding skills in Python and ability to architect scalable, resilient AI solutions.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-department AI projects with measurable impact.
• Strong communication skills for influencing technical strategies at various organizational levels.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Experience

• Background in digital identity verification, KYC/KYB compliance, AML, fraud detection, and biometric or media forensics technologies.
• Hands-on expertise with OCR, document parsing frameworks, and detection of fraudulent identification.
• Familiarity with real-time, low-latency production AI systems and scalable deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of contemporary data processing and AI infrastructure tools such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and Snowflake.
• Experience with MLOps best practices including monitoring and continuous model improvement.
• Experience in fast-paced tech companies or environments with critical security requirements.
• Contributions to AI research through publications, patents, or open-source work.
