Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Security Engineer who is independent, inquisitive, and adopts an attacker’s perspective to safeguard our platform. This role is vital in identifying vulnerabilities, closing security gaps, and enabling our Product and Engineering teams to accelerate development without compromising security.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze platform and product codebases to detect security flaws and guide teams toward secure coding practices
• Develop internal tools, libraries, and automation to enhance security testing and policy enforcement
• Perform continuous vulnerability assessments on both internal and external applications
• Assist in third-party security assessments and penetration testing
• Promote knowledge of secure coding and design among engineering and product teams
• Keep abreast of emerging cyber threats and attack methodologies and evaluate their relevance to our systems

Requirements

• Possess an adversarial mindset, instinctively questioning how systems might be compromised
• Understand common attacker techniques and how poor development practices are exploited, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10
• Programming experience in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, or TypeScript
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven with a persistent eagerness to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency security concerns
• Experience with security tools, capture the flag (CTF) competitions, bug bounty programs, or open-source security projects
• Previous internship or professional experience in a dynamic startup environment
