Senior Software Engineer - Java with Cloud - AWS

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer specialized in Java and Cloud computing, particularly AWS, to architect and deliver high-quality, scalable Java web services on cloud platforms. The role demands collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to build secure, efficient REST APIs and enhance system performance across open components.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and support highly scalable, performance-optimized web services using Java technology.
• Work closely with front-end developers to seamlessly integrate web services into applications.
• Develop and maintain secure RESTful API implementations to ensure robust client-server communication.
• Apply industry best practices for security and reliability to maintain resilient web services.
• Enhance system performance and scalability by utilizing methods such as caching, load balancing, and optimizing database interactions.
• Collaborate with product owners, system architects, and QA teams to deliver top-tier software solutions.
• Engage in thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback and upholding coding standards.
• Keep current with advancements in Java development and evolving web service technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional IT experience with strong emphasis and proficiency in Java development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of web services architecture, including building RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with frameworks such as Spring Boot to create and deploy web services effectively.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing security protocols, including authentication and authorization using Spring Security and JWT.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and using ORM tools like Hibernate for database handling.
• Solid familiarity with Linux command-line tools for development and system troubleshooting.
• In-depth understanding of web security concepts and adherence to best practices in secure software design.
• Experience managing source control through Git and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure DevOps workflows, including sprint boards, pull requests, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Competence with Java desktop technologies like Swing, AWT, and JavaFX as needed.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with problem-solving capability.
• Effective team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or beyond.

Preferred Attributes

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
• Exposure to Angular framework.
• Familiarity with microservices architectural patterns.
• Experience with various cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of container technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Background in Agile methodologies and certifications related to Java programming or comparable technologies.
