Senior Software Engineer - Java - Identity and Access Services

Your Team and Responsibilities

You will join a team developing FactSet's Customer Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. This IAM system manages customer identities, authenticates users and services, authorizes access, and facilitates token exchange across hundreds of microservices. Its functionality touches all customers, applications, and internal teams, critically influencing the organization’s success.

• Architect and implement key IAM services, focusing primarily on Java.
• Build and sustain scalable, globally distributed systems that comply with security standards.
• Deploy services using AWS cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Create and update documentation and standards related to current and future IAM states.
• Engage in code review processes, proactively owning pull requests to identify and resolve security issues.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple internal teams and respond promptly to stakeholder inquiries.
• Participate in incident response and on-call duty, managing production errors as required.

Candidate Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field at the bachelor level or higher.
• Minimum of five years programming experience in Java or a comparable object-oriented language.
• Proficient with IAM authentication protocols, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Foundational understanding of cloud services like AWS or Azure.
• Willingness to take part in an on-call rotation schedule.

Additional Preferred Experience

• Hands-on implementation of role-based access control in large, distributed environments.
• Design and development of RESTful HTTP APIs.
• Strong knowledge of browser behaviors such as Cookies and Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS).
