Senior Software Engineer Full Stack

Overview

Procore Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in full-stack development to join our onboarding team in Bengaluru. This role involves guiding the technical direction for projects that aim to innovate construction methods for critical infrastructures such as hospitals, homes, sports venues, and educational institutions worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Refactor and evolve an existing monolithic Ruby on Rails application into a modular, domain-oriented architecture with a clear and maintainable public interface.
• Design and develop systems consistent with the company's technical vision.
• Develop across the technology stack using Ruby on Rails for backend, React with TypeScript for frontend, and manage complex database queries via PostgreSQL.
• Improve backend performance, scalability, flexibility, and apply security best practices.
• Create seamless and user-friendly frontend experiences utilizing React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, and UX teams to deliver user-centric solutions that address significant business challenges.
• Communicate intricate technical challenges and solutions clearly to both technical team members and non-technical stakeholders through discussions and documentation.
• Engage with multiple engineering groups to advance large-scale initiatives aimed at uniting the construction industry on a global digital platform.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields, or have equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of involved experience in full-stack development, especially with Ruby on Rails backend and React or Angular frontend frameworks.
• Strong grounding in Object-Oriented Programming, Test-Driven Development, Service-Oriented Architecture, and software design principles.
• Well-versed in all stages of web development lifecycle including development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to maintain and build APIs using REST or GraphQL.
• Experienced in producing clear documentation and facilitating understanding of complex technical solutions within teams.
• Proactive in foreseeing possible technical issues emerging from major projects and crafting preemptive solutions.
• Fluent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Additional Information

This position reports to the Manager of Software Engineering and is located in Bengaluru. Immediate joining is preferred.
